I took part in a photoshoot with the clothing brand Lovia a couple of months ago. You can see some pictures of the shoot here, and also lean about a very conscious line of new Finnish fashion!
Some photos from the gallery opening last Saturday. Thanks to everyone who came!
The exhibition will be open until the 7th of May at Galleria2, Pirkkala.
I will be showing some of my private paintings and the joint paintings with Tero Ulvila in a group show of four artists at Galleria2, Pirkkala, Finland.
We have been studio neighbors for the past few years, but we are now giving up our joint space. This is where the idea of the exhibition comes from: to capture where we all are with our art now and to show the spirit of our studio, before we go our separate ways.
I also made some personal paintings for the joint exhibition. We felt it important to have a few pieces of our own, to showcase how we usually work, so people can compare them to the pieces we had both painted on. The first one is a bit of a joint effort though, Tero painted the skull on the table. We decided to consider it my painting, because I made all the decisions on it – to contrast with the co-operational nature of the other paintings we worked on together.
I made a sacrifice for comfort – half of the table we are using for priming is made out of my studio door!
We’ll be answering questions and talking about the exhibition at the gallery this Saturday (21th of March), so I’ll have more pictures to post next week.
The local newspaper was also kind enough to write a piece and a critique about the exhibition (both only in Finnish).
